Today I finished work a couple hours early since I worked about 10.5 yesterday. I wanted to come home and set up my Skype and wish my nephew, Kaiden, a happy 3rd birthday! I'm so glad I did! My brother, Jerry, and his family live in Indiana and I haven't been able to see them in such a long time. I feel like I'm missing my nephews and niece growing up! But….they still have Aunt Jenny via internet. So I guess we live in an age when we can even order up an Aunt online :).
It was so cute trying to get a busy 3 year old with new birthday toys interested in talking to his crazy Aunt online, so I busted out some of my super cool songs that I sing to my kids at school everyday at circle time. He was totally hooked (oh yeah, I rock circle time…LOVE it!)! By song 4, my brother made a comment about how Kaiden probably thought I was an interactive DVD that sang whatever song he wanted :). Great. Now I'm compared to the Wiggles and Dora the Explorer. "Hey Daddy, I want to watch Aunt Jenny again!" I can hear it now.. can you put her on number 4? I want to sing Sticky Bubble Gum!
But seriously..it was pretty cute. I would sing for an hour everyday to spend time with my nephew!
I'm not gonna lie…I'm totally using photos from our Skype Christmas 2008 (I told you I hadn't seen him in awhile). I forgot to take snapshots of todays chat..so I'll use these to give you the idea. That's my brother on the left and Kaiden in the other two with little brother, Hunter behind him!
After my chat with Kaiden, I decided to cozy in with some brownies and milk and watch last nights episode of The Bachelor via abc.com. I'm a sucker, I know. And the book on the left is The Cow and the Elephant (which, by the way, is going for as high as $122!!!) that I sang/read to Kaiden. It's my brother's book from 1985! It was fun to bust that out!
