Chris & Robyn // A Birth Session

I’m hooked. I’m in. This shoot stole my heart. I’ve photographed several of my friends either during or after the birth of their babies, but until this, I had never photographed a full birth session. You guys, I’m in love. I still can’t believe that I got to be a part of this. It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced. I photographed this a few months ago and already I’ve shot a few more and I’ve officially added birth sessions to my list of what I offer.

There’s just so much I could say about this birth in particular, so I’ll do my very best to keep it short, because I’m pretty sure the photos will speak for themselves. Chris and Robyn were beautiful to watch. I think the two things that stood out to me the most was the love and attentiveness that Chris showed to his wife and the joy Robyn clung to during the whole process. I watched Chris as he laid himself aside and became fully available for Robyn both emotionally and spiritually. It was beautiful to see. And to watch Robyn cling to joy even in pain was incredible. There’s a photo below where she is literally smiling as she is pushing. I love that that epidural worked and it’s kind of funny to see the switch in Robyn visible in the timeline of the photos. Also note the fact that there is a photo of Ben Higgins on the tv… yeah, we all may or may not have watched the Bachelor during everything. Ya’ll know that made me excited! Fellow fans? Yes please.
