When I saw the little road up ahead swoop down, I was so scared I would bottom out with my car. Oh boy, I thought, I wonder what they are thinking in their cars behind me. I then took a wrong turn, pulled around as I smiled sheepishly, waving and mouthing, “whoops” as they spun around after me. When we finally arrived to our spot, I stepped out of the car and waved hello as I rushed to give a hug. “I know!” I said, I lead you all the way out into tin-buck-two but I PROMISE these are going to be amazing!
After announcing that I was traveling to Arizona this summer (I live and run my main business in Indiana), Christina emailed me to schedule a shoot. After a few emailsI knew what she wanted, but finding that look in Arizona in July was hard. “Let’s just hop you on a plane back with me to Indiana,” I teased. But surely enough, I found a patch of desert that I thought might work for us. I’ve said it before, but I do love photographing in the desert. When I started my business back in 2007, it took me a while to figure it out and that I did, indeed, love it. I do adore my Indiana too, but always enjoy my visits back.
In the end, it was pretty worth our wild trek into the desert. I love all of the moments in between the posed ones. I love the ones where Charlotte and Teddy are running away from me, with the backs of their sweet chubby-baby elbows. I love the photos of sweet Charlotte doting on her Daddy. I love gorgeous Christina with her long curls and flower wreath. I love the sweet moments where they were all piled in the blanket together.
Enjoy friends.
