Malia and Ron’s Rustic Lodge Wedding

As my second shooter, Carrie, and I drove the two and a half hours north from Phoenix to Heber-Overgaard, Arizona, I couldn’t help but feel excited. I had no idea what the venue was going to look like except for the few words my bride had used to describe it. Rustic, lots of details, mason jars and burlap, camp-fires and outdoor dancing. Oh, and slightly red-neck with lots of cowboy hats and boots. I had a feeling I was going to love it and I was definitely not disappointed. I loved the feeling of the lodge with its layers of cedar planks, log cabin-like pillars and mounted animals everywhere. And when I saw Malia’s dress, it was the perfect mix of elegant to pull the perfect touch of romance throughout the whole thing.

I arrived to a room full of excited bridesmaids and a giddy bride who welcomed me with a huge hug and a smile ear to ear. We had only met via FaceTime and I knew right away she was the kind of girl that I could be friends with. It would only make sense that the people in her life that she surrounds herself with would be the same and the rest of the day was filled with the most kind, fun-loving, laid back kind of people. It was a perfect wedding day, rain and all.

Oh this dress. Goorgeous.

Wood piles and walls.

I adore how Malia incorporated a photo of her late father into her bouquet. He still had a chance to walk with her down the aisle.

The girls’ amazing reaction to seeing Malia in her dress for the first time.

Malia, you are stunning. And you cannot take a bad photo…which made my job of narrowing these down hard!!! xo

Ron, the handsome groom.

These guys were a blast.

I do.

They seriously had the most fun details!

The rain started falling as soon as the ceremony was to start. And it came down hard! Everyone rolled with it quite gracefully and headed back under the porch for a few until it let down a little. You know it’s a great crowd when they don’t let a little rain get them down!

Are these cakes not hilarious??

Stunning.

One of my favorites of these two. You know I love me some woods..

My second shooter, Carrie, grabbed this image right after the rain. Isn’t it gorgeous???

And by the time it was time for the first dance, the rain let up and we were able to move the celebration back outside. Perfect.

Loved that there was a little saloon..

Thank you Ron and Malia for allowing me to capture and be a part of your incredible day!! It was seriously such a fun wedding!!!! xo
