I knew they were scared as they rushed back to our group with panic in their eyes. They didn’t have to say a word for us to know something was very wrong. We were just held up, the couple told the rest of us. We all glanced around quickly as we assessed how that would even happen in such a public place. They had gone off to walk alone when a man confronted them, a gun in hand, demanded their wallets and then left them unscathed accept for their fear and money. The details are a bit fuzzy to me now, but what had begun as an incredible college roommate date full of laughter, rolling down hills, writing messages with sidewalk chalk and long walks, turned into quite a scary adventure for a few of our friends.
That was the last time I was at the Canals in downtown Indianapolis. As I walked around checking for spots for my photo shoot, I was blasted with those memories that had since started to fade. I made double sure that it was bright and sunny, full of people and made sure to not duck into any dark corners as I walked alone. I also decided not to tell my clients that story until the very end of our shoot :).
Although we didn’t find any dangerous events on our trip to the canals for family photos, we did find some amazing little spots. This family, the light and our location couldn’t have been more beautiful!
Brian, Karri, Brayden and Bethany everyone. Aren’t they a good looking family??
Oh these two were so cute. Brayden was the sweetest big brother.
Love, love, love this shot of this sweet girl.
Brayden found this spot for us (top right).. he was pretty excited about it.
This made me want to go explore more and find out which restaurant that is!
Oh, I loved this mural. Such a happy find!
So cute. I mean, er, handsome :).
This tree was my favorite!!!
Thank you Ring Family! It was so great to meet you and thanks for being incredible during your shoot!!! xo
