Cole Family Newborn Session // DIY Grey and Mint Nursery

It wasn’t long after I announced that I was moving to Indiana that I got an email from one of my old friends from high school (not OLD, just a long time friend. Big difference!). It’s been years (not that many, remember we are not old) since I had seen my friend Laura and when she asked if I would photograph her newborn photos, I was beside myself. What a FUN, and mostly tiring for her, way to reconnect and see each other again. It was so amazing to catch up and not only see my long-time friend, but see her as a wife and a mama for the first time. So sweet.

And let’s talk about this sweet nursery! I was in love the moment I walked in. Laura and Eric’s DIY nursery was full of sweet touches and soft grey’s and mint greens.

I love this dresser with the chalkboard window above. Laura made the awesome blue frame and the handwriting is hers, while Eric repurposed the dresser himself. It was amazing!

I was in LOVE with this crib. When Laura told me they ordered it from walmart.com, I about fell of my chair. It was perfect for the room!

These guys are going to log some serious hours in this chair!

One of my favorite things is to see which children’s books parents choose for their kids. I adore so many of these!

Laura made these animal prints from burlap and cutouts. Such a cute idea!! And the elephant curtain tie-back is perfect with the grey chevron curtains.

Ok, I admit. I sort of think photos of crying babies are precious too. It sounds strange, I know, but this time goes sooooo fast and I love remembering every face they made, even these cute cry faces. And don’t worry, we picked him up right away..he was super hungry!
