Sometimes in life I get to meet some pretty amazing people. And I’ll be honest, sometimes after meeting them, I secretly hope that I get the chance to capture their amazingness with my camera. Karen is one of those people. I met her several years ago at my church in Arizona during a women’s retreat and then we continued to cross paths and share our stories through other bible studies and events. I liked her right away and knew quickly that she possessed the type of character, honesty and integrity that I long for and work hard towards. Her personality was easy and drew me in and I always found myself hanging on her words and taking each to heart. They say that you should always surround yourself with people that are positive and she is definitely one of those.
I was honored (and internally jumping up and down) when she asked me to capture her family this winter (yes, these are from this past month which is hard to believe since it’s so cold where I currently live). Being able to photograph such a beautiful family, both inside and out, is why I do what I do. Family sessions have grown on me so much more as I’ve had children of my own and being able to find moments that hold even a bit of their character as a family brings me such joy. I hope it does for them too!
Enjoy!
