This was such a fun shoot. I love waking up on a Saturday morning and meeting with families. The whole process is so endearing and creative and alive. From waking early and getting my equipment ready, to grabbing coffee, to meeting the family, breaking the ice with corny jokes and simple explanations, finding good light and making interesting poses.
This family was all smiles and so ready to go when I met them. Candice had explained earlier that these were going to be very important photos to them. Her husband was home from Iraq. They had just moved into a new home and needed new photos on their walls. I hope it was everything you dreamed of Candice!
I adored seeing sweet and longing looks from husband to wife. They were just so happy to be together. I wish my camera could've captured half of what I saw. The girls adored their Daddy too. It was as if everyone just kept looking at each other with the unsaid sigh of, "He's home."
