When I first started out in photography a few years ago, I was always very interested in other photographer's post processing techniques. I think that and the combined fascination with anything before and after. So..I've decided to start posting a few of my own.
This photo below is my friend & photographer, Chelsea Hudson, second shooting for me for a wedding a couple of months ago. I quickly turned and decided to shoot her before adjusting the proper exposure, so I needed to fix it up a bit.
I'll start by saying that I ordered Totally Rad Actions early last fall and they fast became my friends. I love a quick button to do the trick. I will say that I'm careful to use them to enhance my photographs, not make my photographs. Shooting 100% manually, I do my best to get my photos as close to the final product straight out of the camera and then use actions to boost them up a little bit to fit my style. Sometimes, like the photo below, I'll dig through my batch of photos and find some that do need a bit of help.
On the flipside, I think the artist in my likes to fiddle and play every now and then and see what kind of 'recipes' I can make with a handful of actions.
I tossed a few of these actions in a bowl and here is what I came up with:
Warm it Up Kris 100% …. To warm it up..it needed some WB adjustment majorly
Oh Snap 100% …. This boosted the color and gave some contrast to the overall photo
Level Tweaks (my own concoction) …. Additional contrast and light balance
Pool Party 28% …. gave it a soft, vintagy feel, but only a little
Warm It Up Kris 75% …. a little more warmth to make it smooth and buttery
Slice Like a Ninja …. sharpen it up a bit
Enjoy and share your recipes! Let me know if you liked this and would like to see more!!
