Jamie, Justin and I headed to Old Town Scottsdale to document their engagement! I was so excited to work with them as I've known Jamie the last few months and have loved getting to know her! She had seen photos of my last enagement shoot and knew that she wanted to go and check out the colors and textures of Old Town. She even shares my love of doors!
I often have my new clients refer back to some of my older client photos when they are trying to figure out where they want their shoot to be. I ultimately like to give clients full control of their shoot so that they can each have a hand in their own unique creative experience. Many times, like Jamie, they see something I've already done and know that they just have to shoot there. Old Town is just one of those places; full of charm, spunk and endless creativity. When this happens, I make sure that they get some of what they've already seen in other photos and then I try to take it a step further and give them new places and poses of their own.
We headed out early to get some of the warm, subdued, morning light.

She fell in love with this old welding door in some pictures I had done before and was shocked when I actually brought her there! She couldn't believe it was the same place!
Jamie's eyelashes = no fair.
Jamie told me that someone had shown her a trick to a natural smile in photos! Little did she know I took pictures of the whole thing!!!! (Sorry guys…had to blog it! It was too funny!)
1. Take a deep breath.
2. Shake your face back and forth and let your lips loose!
3. Save FAB-U-LOUS with as much English flare as you can muster.
4. Let the smile come on through :).
5. Gorgeous photo!
Everyone needs a little love.
Speaking of love…I was in love with these canopies.
This composition turned out fabulous! I've been working on un-tilting my tilted frame lately. I sorta get into the habit!!!
Killer shoes.
So emotive..I'm so happy I caught this.
Jamie, I officially obsessed with your pinky finger!!! Well…and your rock of a ring!
