The Baxter Family

Down the ravine, to the river, over the bridge, around the trail, another bridge, a crazy tree, back up the ravine, to the fields.

And all of this in Indiana in the summer. My favorite.

This is the adventure that the Baxter family and I went on to capture their sweet family session last month. Be still my heart. I pretty much drool at the sight of all of these things, but to be able to photograph this family among all of it was pretty sweet.

I adore this family. They were so easy going and playful. The kids got to pick out their favorite clothes, making it relaxed and real to who they are right now. Sweet little Miss was so shy, but I couldn’t help but be proud of her for opening up towards the end. The littlest mister wanted not much more to do with anything but crawling and eating cheerios. So we included cheerios. I loved watching them throw rocks in the water, play with sticks and pick flowers. They blew bubbles and showed me their muscles and picked out their own spots to photograph. They danced together, spun around and put flowers in each other’s hair.

It was them and I’m so thankful that they chose a longer session so that I could adventure with them :).
